How to Freshen up Your BBQ
Is your BBQ looking dull and outdated? This simple task will help you bring your BBQ to life and make it look brand new. Just follow the below steps to freshen up your BBQ this summer.
Tools for the Job:
- Rust-Oleum Stove & BBQ Paint (heat resistant finish)
- Wire Brush or sandpaper
- Cloth/ sponge
- Masking tape
- Dust mask
- Dust sheets
Step 1
Move your BBQ to an open space in the garden, on top of a large dust sheet. Make sure to cover the surrounding area to protect everything from any spray mist.
Top Tip: Choose a dry calm day when doing any spray painting to lessen the mess.
Step 2
Ensure the surface of the BBQ is free from any loose paint, rust, wax, oil and grease. Remove any loose rust with a wire brush. Wipe clean with a damp sponge.
Step 3
If the wheels are removable, remove them. If not, use masking tape to cover the wheels as well as the tool basket, shelves and any other surface you don't want to be painted.
Step 4
Shake can vigorously. Continue to shake the can during use. Hold it 30cm away from the surface and spray in a steady back and forth motion, slightly overlapping with each stroke. Apply the spray paint to the entire outer surface of the BBQ. Follow specific application tips and dry times on the can. Apply several light coats, 5 minutes apart.
Step 5
Once dry, remove all masking tape and reattach removed parts.
Now relax and enjoy your brand-new-looking BBQ without the cost!
