Indoor DIY Craft Ideas
Get some inspiration from our ideas below to create your own indoor DIY Halloween decorations this year!
1.    Handmade Poison Liquor Labels
Using old bottles of any kind, spray paint them with black or white paint. You can even use hot glue around the top of the bottle, as if it had been oozing liquid at one point. Add the spray paint over the top. Then, create your poison labels using paper and markers. You can even search for printable labels online. Simply glue them onto the bottles and set them out on your tabletops or shelves.
2.    Bat Cut-Outs
Find a bat stencil online or in a book and trace the shape onto paper or card of your choice. We recommend using black card for a more lifelike effect. Once it’s traced, use scissors to cut them out. When they’re cut, the world is your oyster! You can string them with fishing line or thick string and hang them across doorways, shelves, or windows. You can even opt to keep them separate from one another. Afterwards, tape them to the wall or even across a mantlepiece, windowsill, or countertop.
3.    Paper Pumpkin Cut-Outs
Love the idea of the bat cut-outs, but want something a bit cuter and more festive for the entire season of autumn? Then why not try using a pumpkin stencil instead. Follow the same steps as above but using a pumpkin stencil. You’ll have a festive decoration that’s great for the whole season in no time!
Outdoor DIY Craft Ideas
Once you’ve finished creating your indoor DIY Halloween decorations, it’s time to start getting crafty with outdoor DIY Halloween decorations. Try these out this season:
4.    Larger Than Life Archway
Want your visitors this Halloween to be able to make a grand entrance on their way into your home? Then why not create a larger-than-life archway that bends over the top of your front garden! Use large branches as the base on either side of the driveway. Bend the tops so they meet and wrap them in garden twine to keep them arched. Fill out the rest with more branches and cover them with faux spiderwebs. You can even add in more plastic spiders to complete the look!
5.    Traditional Pumpkin Carving
It’s a classic for a reason! What’s more fun, and the perfect activity for getting you in the spooky season mood, than carving up pumpkins with family or friends? Use a pumpkin carving kit for all the tools you need to carve your creation. There are tonnes of ideas and designs to choose from, whether you want to go spooky, scary or cute. You could even try your hand at creating a unique masterpiece, similar to the one pictured!
6.   Pumpkin Spray Painting
Not a fan of pumpkin carving or looking for something a bit different when it comes to pumpkin crafting? Why not try your hand at spray painting pumpkins instead! The colour scheme is completely up to you too. You could go dark and spooky with blacks and greys, or maybe something cuter like pastel colours, or even decadent with golds and silvers. Once you've chosen your colours here, it's time to get spraying!
Firstly, you'll want to lay down some old newspaper to avoid getting the paint on your surfaces and lessen the clean up later! Then start spraying the paint directly onto the pumpkins. Once finished, set them aside to dry before placing them wherever you think they'll look best. Perfect for decorating your doorstep, inside your porch or front window, or lining your driveway or balcony!
